If you had told baby Harry Styles, here trying out for Britains “X Factor”, that one day Lenny Kravitz could be his father-in-law and Lisa Bonet could be his mother-in-law, who knows what he would have said.
Over the years I have known a few people who got engaged a lot. I’ve never really understood it, but I’m guessing that one partner or the other really wanted to put the a potential mate on “hold”. Like that cool shirt you see at TJ Maxx but you can’t afford it until pay day, and you’re sure someone else will pick it up before then.
Fortunately my acquaintences didn’t marry most of their fiancĂ©(e)s. Maybe putting someone on hold can result in a situation where you’re sitting at home waiting for your paycheck to hit your account, and you suddenly realize that the cool shirt isn’t really right for you anyway. However, when my serial engager friends ultimately did marry someone, it worked out. (I can’t say forever, but for as long as I knew them.)
Even so, Harry and Zoe (Zoerry? Harzoe?) are both adorable, and I wish them the best. You never know where you’re going to end up.
